Allen
Acclaimed for her mezzotints,Ingrid Allen studied at North Staffordshire University specialising in printmaking and at the Central School of Art, London where she first became involved with the mezzotint process of printmaking. A founder member of the Richmond Printmaker Group, Allen exhibited in London, USA and Japan and has work in UK, European and USA collections. She moved to Cornwall in the 1990's which became her spiritual home and in 1996 founded the Goldsithney Gallery. In the late 1990's Ingrid Allen became a member of the Penwith Printmakers and attracted acclaim for her mezzotints of smooth polished beach stones. Allen was a versatile artist - an accomplished painter, embracing photography and digital techniques to capture and convey Cornwall's individual and atmospheric landscape.
